Top Nigeria’s music stars including Tuface, Iyanya, D’banj, Tiwa Savage, Davido, and Wizkid bagged nominations in various categories at the 2014 World Music Awards. The World Music Awards are based on sales merit and voted by the public on the Internet.

With the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry, IFPI, providing the organizers with the names of the best-selling artists from all major territories, the World Music Awards, which is regarded as the best music awards because of its transparency, will honour the best-selling recording artists from every continent.

The World Music Awards are based on sales merit and voted by the public on the Internet as there is no jury involved.

The world’s best-selling recording-artists in each category are determined by a thorough inquiry conducted by the organizers which includes sales figures and record certification in 2013.

Kukere master, Iyanya, leads with six nominations for his hit singles “Away” and “Le Kwa Ukwu.”

The movie adapted from the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie novel of the same name features Hollywood stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton, Anika Noni Rose and Hakeem Kae-Kazim; has her soundtrack produced by Deevee, listen and share your thoughts.

For quite some time now, the Copyrights Society of Nigeria (COSON), has been harassing the Broadcasting Society of Nigeria (BON) and the Independent Broadcasting Society of Nigeria, IBAN, insisting that they pay royalties for playing the songs of Nigerian artists. COSON has dragged several radio and TV stations to court, demanding millions, sometimes billions of Naira in royalty.

Well, it seems IBAN and BON have had enough. Two days ago, they announced the ban of all Nigerian artists registered with COSON. Meaning that they ordered the immediate stop to the airing of songs of artists who are COSON members.

The artists include 2face Idibia, D'banj, Onyeka Onwenu, Iyanya, Banky W, Flavour, Ice Prince, Dr Sid, Olamide, 9ice, M.I, eLDee, Ruggedman, Wizkid, Asa, Waje, Omawumi and several others.

In a statement released and signed jointly by the President and Secretary of IBAN, Sonny Adun and Guy Murray Bruce, the need for such a drastic step was due to "the antagonism and harassment under the leadership of Tony Okoroji (COSON Chairman)”. Continue...

The former music partners were spotted looking very friendly at Ice Prince's FOZ album launch on Saturday November 23rd. Imagine if these two got back together. But I hear they are working on new music together.

A source close to D’Banj and his former producer and partner, Don Jazzy, has told Amenbovillage.Net that times have changed and the two men are back together as good friends and have decided to work together. Since separating from each other, D’banj has not released any song that is as strong and with National appeal as it used to be when Don Jazzy was his producer. Also, Don Jazzy on his part has not been able to produce any hit with his new crew like it used to be when D’Banj was around. So, don’t be surprised if you hear a new hit song from D’banj and Don Jazzy any time soon. Don Jazzy was born in Umuahia, Abia State on November 26, 1982. He lived and was raised in Ajegunle, Lagos state.
A Business Management Graduate from the Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma, Edo state he moved to London in 2000.

If you missed the Guinness colourful world of more concert then you certainly missed out on the biggest concert of the year! It was amazing! The energy and thrill was simply out of this world and definitely deserving of the hype, it was so much fun! 

From the ambience of the concerts area, the sterling performances, the lightning effect, the sound, the entire feel was absolutely world class; and in a way only Guinness could.
