Banky W: Celebrities Are Famous And Broke

Bankole Wellington aka Banky W is a household name in the Nigerian music industry, having made his mark, making hit songs and grooming the likes of Wizkid, Skales, among others.
In this interview, he talks about his relationship, being a celebrity and what his future plans are.
What have you been up to recently?
I’ve been working hard, pretty much. On the music side, I’ve been working on collaborations with different artistes.I’ve recently completed really good songs for Black Magic, Sarkodie, MoCheddah, Lynxxx, Ketchup, Victoria Kimani and Vector. Internally (within EME), I’m contributing to Wizkid’s album, as well as projects for Skales, ShayDee and Niyola. Outside of all this, I’ve been giving speeches at various events, as well as working on a couple of potentially great movie projects.
Is Banky in a relationship?
Not at the moment.

Within the time span of Summer 2012 and Summer 2013, several new artists have made their entrance into the music scene. Some have made a lot of noise with their music, but only a handful of artists really had us putting their songs on repeat, making noise when a song came on and made serious impact between the aforementioned time period.

10. Burna Boy
Like To Party is a testament that you can catch a hit record without following the typical music format that rules the airwaves in Nigeria. Burna Boy appeared to have come from nowhere after “Like To Party” became an overwhelming hit all over Lagos and most parts of Nigeria, but the reality is that he has been dropping music since 2011 and finally caught his biggest hit in 2012. Burna then went on to deliver a quality video for not just his first single off the L.I.F.E album but for his other strong and widely accepted singles such as Tonight and Run My Race which were produced by Aristokrat in-house producer LeriQ.Tuesday, 3 September 2013

2face Idibia, Banky W, D’Banj, P-Square make top 10 richest African artistes list

Nigerian superstars 2face Idibia, D’Banj, P-Sqaure and Banky W, have been included in Africa Answers’ list of ten wealthiest artistes.
P-Square is adjudged to be the richest Nigerian artistes, only second to Senegalese singer Youssou N’Dour in Africa. D’Banj is in 3rd place, 2face Idibia occupies the 7th position while EME boss, Bank W comes in at 9th place.
About their earning, AfricaAnswers wrote that:
