‘No evidence’ against Spain’s princess

  Prosecutors on Friday appealed a court decision to name Spain's Princess Cristina a suspect in a corruption case.

Investigating judge Jose Castro this week named the daughter of King Juan Carlos as a suspect in a corruption case involving her husband, former Olympic handball player Inaki Urdangarin.

Prosecutors in the investigation disagree with Castro and maintain there is no evidence against the princess.

Nokia has vehemently denied that they have a Windows 8 powered tablet in the pipeline, although developers do seem to work against Nokia’s favor as they on the other hand, keep on leaking it, so we as consumers remain up in arms. Is Nokia going to churn out a Windows 8 tablet for the masses, or are they not going to do so? The latest development on a potential Windows 8 tablet by Nokia sees a developer write that he was one person who helped design a proposal for an exclusive Nokia Tablet app.
Considering how the Finnish smartphone company’s Lumia handsets are full of exclusive apps which seem to work in the Windows Phone 8 ecosystem, it would not be a stretch of the imagination to see Nokia work on something similar, albeit in the tablet format. The same developer said, “Helped design and concept the Adidas micoach app proposal for the Nokia Tablet. The Tablet App intended to be an extension of coaches allowing them to build teams and monitor individual trainings for each athlete. The way that works is to connect the app to existing technology on Adidas products to read the workout data registered by cell chip implants. The app also tapped into the community allowing users to challenge each other by sending notifications to friends and their social feeds” What do you think?

Captain Joseph Yobo is again missing in Stephen Keshi's squad for a packed schedule in June while Emmanuel Emenike returns to the side after his injury as well as Kalu Uche.
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has invited 30 players to prosecute the team's jumbo schedule between the end of May and mid-July, in which about 10 matches loom.
The African champions have a high-profile friendly against CONCACAF champions Mexico in Houston, Texas, USA on the last day of May, before two World Cup qualifying matches in Nairobi and Windhoek that come before the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup tournament in Brazil.
Nigeria play Tahiti, Uruguay and Spain in Brazil but will play two more games if they advance to the knock-out stage, before returning to Africa for a 2014 African Nations Championship qualifying fixture against Cote d'Ivoire.

After several months of buck passing between the Presidency and stakeholders in the north on the emergence of Boko Haram Islamic sect and desirability of granting amnesty to its members, the Federal government, yesterday, took a major step towards granting them amnesty as it set up a committee to look at the feasibility or otherwise of the programme.
The terms of reference of the committee are:

TWENTY prospective couples out of 1,000 widows, widowers and divorcees scheduled for mass wedding in Kano, on Sunday, have been discovered to be HIV positive.
The commander-general of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheik Aminu Daurawa, also said five of them were also discovered to be pregnant before marriage, despite the shariah practice in the state which forbids this.

Alafin of Oyo says democracy needs independent judiciary to survive

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has said that democracy would survive in Nigeria only if the judiciary remained an unbiased umpire. He said this at the public presentation of a book, "Chieftaincy Laws in Nigeria: Principles and Practice, ’’ published in his honour which took place in Ibadan Thursday.

As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter. Through his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for sin, thus purchasing for all who believe in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus.

North and the 2015 presidency

TO some observers, the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) plans to choose President Goodluck Jonathan as the sole aspirant for its presidential ticket for the 2015 election. Supporters of the president, especially his kinsmen from the South- South, have also been unrelenting in trying to convince other stakeholders on the need for the president to continue in office. The likes of Chief Edwin Clark, Tompolo, Asari  Dokubo and others from the  president’s zone had, in several interviews, appeared to have threatened thunder and brimstone if the President was not allowed to succeed himself in office, come 2015.These remarks were often met with stiff reactions from  many Northerners who still nursed the grudge that the North  was politically shortchanged in 2011.

Former Derby County, Plymouth and Inter Milan defender Taribo West has been accused of lying about his age.
The former Nigeria centre half, now retired, joined Serbian team Partizan Belgrade in 2002 after leaving Derby County and told club bosses he was 28.
But now the ex-president of Partizan, Zarko Zecevic, has accused him of lying, saying the defender was actually 40.

The business-focused social network on Thursday began rolling out a new feature that lets you mention and hyperlink other LinkedIn users and companies in status updates and conversations. The feature is similar to what's already available on services like Facebook and Twitter, and is intended to make it easier to start conversations with your peers on LinkedIn.

Has Wizkid added another automobile to his garage of luxury automobiles? Photos from several Instagram accounts including his and Pop singer Tiwa Savage suggest so.

The 23-year-old Pop star posted a photo of him holding a set of car keys – his BMW X6 car key which we are familiar with and a Rolls Royce car key, several minutes later, Tiwa posted a photo of herself sitting on a white Rolls Royce.
