While granting an interview yesterday, Chris Brown revealed he had infused the Ghanaian dance move into his latest video and attributed its origination to Nigeria. He also recalled meeting Nigerian pop singer Wizkid who taught him the dance move.
Understandably, Ghanians are unhappy about CB’s wrong assumption on
the origin of Azonto, with one blog ‘Ghana Celebrities’ posting in an
article ‘WTF: Chris Brown Talks About AZONTO On BET, But He Says The Dance Is A Nigerian Thing…‘.

FG approves scrapping of UTME, NECO, NAPEP, others
THE Federal Government has apparently resolved to scrap some of its agencies in line with the recommendations of the Stephen Oronsaye-led Presidential Committee on the Rationalisation and Restructuring of Federal Government Parastatals, Commissions and Agencies following its completion of study of its White Paper Committee.
The committee had recommended the abolition of 38 agencies, the merger of 52 and the reversion of 14 to departments in the ministries from which they were carved out, a move the committee argued would save more than N862 billion between 2012 and 2015 if the government carried out what the panel has proposed.
CANADA: A BRIEF HISTORY

COLONIAL CANADA
The first people in Canada crossed the Bering Straits from Asia. In the north the Inuit lived by hunting seals, walruses and whales. They also hunted caribou. On the west coast people hunted deer, bear and beaver. They also fished. On the plains people lived by hunting buffalo. In the east people grew crops of beans, squash, maize and sunflower seeds.
The first Europeans to reach Canada were the Vikings. In 986 a Viking called Bjarni Herjolfsson was blown off course by a storm and he spotted a new land. However he sailed away without landing. In 1001 a man named Leif Eriksson landed in the new land, which he named Vinland (it was part of Canada). However Eriksson did not stay permanently. Later the Vikings did establish a colony in North America but they abandoned it because of conflict with the natives.

•Obafaye during the Channels TV programme that landed him in trouble
Mr. Shem Obafaye, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC Lagos Commandant, who popularised the ‘My Oga At the Top’ joke has been redeployed from his post.
Obafaye has been replaced by Mr. Adesuyi Clement, from the Oyo State Command.
Obafaye became an object of snide remarks after he committed a gaffe when he was guest on a breakfast show on Channels Television, a development that embarrassed the NSCDC authorities. Hint of Obafaye’s removal was given, weekend, when the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Mr. Olu Abolurin, while visiting Lagos over the recent killings of two of his men, introduced Clement as the new commandant of the NSCDC in Lagos to pressmen.
