After his surprise visit to founder of Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) upon his release from prison, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha on Sunday paid an unusual visit to the leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujaheed Dokubo-Asari, in his Abuja residence.

On hand to receive the former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to late General Sani Abacha (rtd), were Ambassador Fanny Amu, Chief K.D Amachree, Chief Opaks Harry, among others.
Dokubo, who said he was convinced that Al-Mustapha did not kill the late Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, an allegation that led to his arrest and subsequent incarceration in the last 14 years, urged him to forgive his accusers and all those who made sure he was kept behind bars.

About two months ago, the sultry Nollywood actress Chika Ike announced that she had filed for a divorce from her husband, Tony Eberiri in an Abuja High Court. Chika and Tony got married back in 2006.

Last night, she took to her Facebook profile page to announce that the divorce proceedings had culminated and she was now a single woman once again.

It is also no longer news that the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has been accused by Pastor Raymond of hypnotizing his daughter, who has since changed her name to A’isha, to embrace Islam just as the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) also claimed the girl was kidnapped and forced to renounce Christianity.

•Obasanjo: expands farming business into Liberia

Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo has expanded his farming business into Liberia.
The 125 acre farm, also known as Obasanjo Farms was officially opened today at Gbah Foboi, Grand Cape Mount County, in Liberia.
Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture, Dr Florence Chenoweth, who performed the dedication ceremony said that the farm would create about 30,000 job opportunities for the citizens.
She noted that the Liberian government has focused on the agriculture sector in its efforts to create jobs for the people.

MUSLIMS travelling to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Umrah and Hajj (pilgrimage) are being asked to take special precautions following an outbreak of the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus, otherwise known as MERS-CoV.
The warning comes from Dr Yitades Gebre, adviser, Family Health Disease Management at the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
In a statement issued to the media last Thursday, Gebre said the first case of MERS-CoV was reported in 2012 and has affected nine countries to date.
“Globally, from September 2012 to July 21, 2013, WHO has been informed of a total of 90 laboratory-confirmed cases of infection with MERS-CoV, including 45 deaths.

Fashola Gives Naked Man N100k

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State recently rescued a 22-year old vulcanizer, Akin Abayomi, who was found stark naked at Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, Marina, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, around 12 midnight.
Abayomi was found naked in the middle of the road when the governor was driving by with his convoy and thinking he was a mad man, Fashola ordered his security aides to pick him up for rehabilitation.
The man was taken to the State House, Marina where he was housed for the night before the governor sent for the Special Adviser on Youth and Social Development, Dr. Dolapo Badru to rehabilitate him.

Abayomi confessed that he was not a mad man, but that he stripped himself in the middle of the night on the road because he wanted to curse the person who stole his cell phone and his money.
He said he visited a herbalist in his quest for revenge against the person who stole his cell phone and money and was instructed to carry out the act in order to curse his enemy, which was why he was naked in the middle of the night.
According to Badru, the man said he was never mad and that he was an apprentice and that his phone and money were stolen by somebody.
“After I picked him up from the State House, he said he was not a mad man, but says he drinks and smokes marijuana and that he is an apprentice in a vulcanizing workshop. He said he bought a phone and that somebody stole the phone.

AFP – Italian media reported today that Nigerian migrants were among several dozen people who drowned weekend off the coast of Libya, while attempting to cross into Italy.
Thirty one migrants, including nine women, drowned off the coast of Libya during an attempted crossing to Italy according to survivors who managed to complete the journey, Italian media reported Sunday.
