Two Yoruba movie stars Murphy Afolabi and fast rising actress Bimpe Akintunde were involved in an auto crash on Thursday afternoon.
Murphy was driving the vehicle when the incident occurred around 12.30 pm at Awowo old road in Abeokuta immediately they passed Obada Oko about 20 minutes from Adesba Hotel on their way to Ilaro.

 Eight people including a pregnant woman on Monday lost their lives in an auto crash along Gbongan/Ibadan express road in Osogbo, Osun state.
The victims of the auto crash were said to be traders going from Ede to Owode via Osogbo when the accident happened at about 6.40 am.
Daily Trust gathered that the accident which involved three different vehicles occurred when a blue gulf car with registration number AG 19

Trailer Crushes Taxi In Ibadan,

A trailer yesterday crushed a taxi in Ibadan, killing the driver and two passengers.
The vehicle, which was carrying granite, was reportedly coming from the Ojoo end of the Ibadan-Lagos Expressway when it skidded off the road due to a brake failure near the Iwo Road interchange axis of the expressway.
An eyewitness, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter that the accident occurred about 1pm. He said the driver, on discovering the brake has failed, tried to use a structure beside the road to stop the vehicle, but he ran into the taxi, whose driver was dropping passenger.
According to the source, the trailer crushed the taxi, killing the driver and two passengers, dragging the cab until it hit a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) parked by the road. The SUV was slightly damaged as it was hit from behind. It tore the taxi into two.
The Nation learnt that on discovering the consequence of his action, the driver and his two assistants bolted to avoid being lynched by sympathisers.
Confirming the accident, Oyo State police spokesperson Mrs. Olabisi Ilobanafor said three people died.She said policemen visited the scene and towed the taxi and the SUV to a nearby station for further investigation.
According to her, the victims have been taken to the mortuary.Mrs. Ilobanafor said the trailer driver has been arrested.

Spain Train Accident: 77 Reported Dead

Investigators are trying to determine what caused a train in northern Spain to jump the tracks, killing 77 people and injuring more than 140.

The derailment Wednesday near a station outside the ancient city of Santiago de Compostela is Spain's deadliest train crash since 1972 when a train collided with a bus in southern Spain, killing 80 people.

Emergency workers worked through the night to rescue survivors. Television footage showed smoke rising from the wreckage and bodies covered by blankets alongside the tracks next to the twisted metal of the train's eight cars.

Rescue teams used cranes Thursday to move the carriages from the scene of the derailment.
