President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday in New York strongly canvassed for Nigeria’s election into the non- permanent seat at the United Nations Security Council.
Jonathan flaunting Nigeria’s many years of support for the activities of the United Nations, declared that the country has done enough to be elected into the position, having also received the endorsement of both the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS) and the African Union, AU.
He observed that Nigeria’s election into the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), one of the six principal organs of the United Nations, charged with the maintenance of international peace and security, was long overdue.
