Governor Appoints MBGN Winner as Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism

Miss Anna Ebiere Banner, 18, defeated her closest rival, 19-year-old Miss Imo State, Stephanie Okwu, to become the winner of the 2013 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria MBGN pageant. She has now been appointed by Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State, as his Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism.
The Nigeria Beauty Queen will represent Nigeria at the Miss World pageant later this year in Jakarta, Indonesia.
There were 32 contestants from across the country to compete in the event, organized at the Banquet hall of the Bayelsa Government House in Yenagoa.
Okwu Stephanie was declared to be the first runner-up whereas Miss Adamawa Powede Lawrence was the second runner-up. Miss Kaduna, Enoma Agboniko, grabbed the position of third runner-up.
Abuja, Imelissa Devidal, was expected to give Bayelsa a run for the enviable position, but she performed poorly in the question session that landed her on to the position of fourth runner up.
Dickson was ecstatic over the results. He stood by his earlier made promise to proclaim the winner as honorary citizen of the state. In addition, the governor elected the beauty Queen as the state's ambassador on culture and tourism.
