IMG Media, who have the new three-year Premier League rights for coverage at sea and in the air, have negotiated for their Sports 24 channel, produced exclusively for boats and planes, to be broadcast on the three flagship Cunard liners and the seven boats in the P&O fleet.
This comes in addition to the previous agreements struck with Norwegian cruise liners and Lufthansa and Gulf Air planes.
All at sea: Seven boats in the P&O luxury
cruise liner fleet will screen live Premier League football to their
holidaymakers next season
The attraction of watching football at sea is likely to be used as an advertising tool with Cunard and P&O promoting the opportunity for their passengers to be able to plan their days on board around the Premier League fixture list.
High fliers: Fans will also be able to watch the
likes of Premier League leaders Manchester United on Lufthansa and Gulf
Air planes next season
Richard Wise, IMG media senior vice-president, said: 'We look forward to working with Cunard and P&O cruises to bring live 24-hour sports coverage to sports lovers on board ship allowing fans to enjoy the Barclays Premier League and more while sailing to destinations right across the world.'
